An encompassing and efficient ecosystem



It was in 2019 that we began our collaboration with the Union of Agricultural Producers (UPA) of Quebec, an organization as complex as it is fascinating. The UPA, with its 150 regional and provincial groups, its 89 local unions, and its 12 regional federations, including the UPA federation of Quebec and that of Longueuil, represents a true Quebec agricultural ecosystem. Dissecting this complexity to create a suitable web platform was a stimulating challenge, full of unforgettable moments of co-creation.

Our first step was to clearly identify the UPA’s target audiences. From agricultural producers to specialized groups, including local unions and regional federations, each actor had their specific needs and expectations. Our goal was to create a platform that could serve everyone, a digital hub where every user would find what they wanted. This platform was also intended to serve as a new window for marketing Quebec agricultural products.

Our solution

Thanks to our design thinking workshop methodology, we managed to get to the heart of the matter, to understand the UPA’s business area, its vision and its challenges. This allowed us to develop solutions adapted to each target audience, in accordance with the UPA’s mission. Co-creation sessions were essential at this stage, allowing us to collaborate closely with the UPA to define the most relevant features.

The construction of the web platform was carried out on TYPO3, a flexible and powerful content management system. With TYPO3, we were able to develop a robust and scalable platform that reflects the scope and diversity of UPA’s activities. This platform serves forest producers in central Quebec and Montérégie, as well as agricultural businesses in Longueuil.

Whether for regional federations working on issues such as the promotion of the profession, agricultural land use planning, property taxation, or agri-environment, or for specialized groups focused on improving product quality , traceability, promotion and research, the platform offers tools adapted to each need. It also raises awareness of climate change and promotes the “eat local” initiative among Quebec farmers.


With this platform, UPA members can now access a wealth of information and resources, share knowledge, organize activities, and connect with their peers, all in a friendly and intuitive digital environment.

The work we have accomplished with UPA is a vibrant testimony to what we seek to accomplish at Libéo: creating digital solutions that unlock the potential of our partners and have a significant impact on their activities. This collaboration with UPA is a precious memory for us, a reminder of the power of co-creation and the importance of fully understanding the needs of our customers. We are honored to have played a role in realizing this vision and we are proud of what we have accomplished together.

By working with organizations like the UPA, we are contributing to the overhaul of Quebec’s digital ecosystem, by supporting agricultural producers, agricultural businesses and forestry producers. We are aware of the challenges posed by climate change and we are determined to help our partners meet them. By promoting local marketing and supporting initiatives like “eat local”, we hope to contribute to a more sustainable future for Quebec.
